Cover Reveal: ‘Chain of Gold’ by Cassandra Clare

Cassandra Clare, author of the acclaimed YA fiction series ‘The Mortal Instruments’ and Shadowhunter Chronicles, has revealed the cover art for Chain of Gold, the first book in the trilogy The Last Hours, which is to be set in Edwardian London, 1903, and is the sequel to The Dark Artifices’.

The narrative will feature James and Lucie Herondale (Will and Tessa’s children), and their parabatai Matthew Fairchild and Cordelia Carstairs, and other characters making an appearance from some of her various short story collections.

With ‘The Dark Artifices’ trilogy having come to an end, fans can look forward to the books of ‘The Last Hours’ in addition to Clare’s ‘The Wicked Powers’.

The Wicked Powers is to be set after the events of The Dark Artifices, with the trilogy being the fifth and last series in the Shadowhunter world.

The cover for Chain Of Gold features Cordelia Carstairs standing at the gates of Kensington Palace, holding the sword Cortana (which is Emma’s sword in The Dark Artifices).

With the novel to be released November 19th, 2019, the author teases the story as being about Edwardian England with “fabulous clothes” and “dark secrets”, in addition to featuring the model for Cordelia on the cover.

Clare has revealed the cover during her Los Angeles stop of her ‘Queen of Air and Darkness’ tour, at Barnes & Nobles, The Grove.

For fans who couldn’t see the reveal in person, they got the chance to check it out online with YouTube book vlogger Christine Riccio (who also takes a moment to speak to Cassandra Clare).

Plus, the following is some artwork of the main characters by official artist Cassandra Jean from her ‘Shadowhunters Language of Flowers’ series.
